DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES
Description

In the Division of Codes and Standards, Office of State and Local Code Inspections, Elevator Safety Program, receives and reviews elevator registration/permit applications for accuracy and compliance with the Elevator Subcode of the Uniform Construction Code; reviews and updates elevator registration/property records utilizing the ELSA online service portal and database; assists applicants and public with questions pertaining to the Elevator Safety Program and regulations; interprets and explains policies and procedures; monitors elevator registration, inspection, and penalty fees paid within ELSA system; ensures proper calculation and recording of fees; does other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience

Experience: Two (2) years of experience providing information and support to customers or clients, responding to technical inquiries and/or complaints regarding products, services, or programs, or collecting payments in a government setting.
License

Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
