DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES

The Office of Information Privacy (OIP) in the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is tasked with the implementation of Daniel’s Law. (P.L. 2021, c. 371). Under the close supervision of the Director, this employee will assist in the OIP’s administrative, analytical, and professional work to promote the operation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of its program and services. Under supervision, they may assist in making revisions or upgrades to the existing Daniel's Law Portal and communicate well with the other IT experts involved in such work. They will respond to users’ verbal and written inquiries for additional information regarding the program and services of the OIP. They will consult with senior staff for more complicated inquiries and guidance prior to responding to users. Under general supervision, they will prepare informational materials, including letters, reports, correspondence, and other documents related to the mandate of Daniel's Law. They must, always, maintain the confidentiality of the data, records, reports, and files assigned to them in the daily course of business. ADVANCEMENT: Appointees who successfully complete the 12 month training period will be eligible for advancement to one of the following titles: Program Specialist 1, Program Specialist 1 (Socio-Economic Programs), Program Specialist 1 (Social/Human Services), or Program Specialist 1 (Regulatory Programs). The inability of an employee in this title to attain a level of performance warranting advancement to one of the titles listed above shall be considered as cause for separation.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.

Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
